We hope that you are having a delightful summer. It has been beautiful here in Iowa this year.
Our Creation Care team, as most groups, has had a relaxed schedule during the summer and is in the process of gearing up for the fall. We have started a recycling program for the parish center. We have offered the Laudato Si four session seminar on Zoom to members of Our Lady’s Immaculate Parish in Ankeny and St. Theresa’s Parish in Des Moines.
Our next meeting is October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the parish center. Let us know if you would like to come.
Please consider us, on September 17th after the 4:30 mass, for hot dogs and a short presentation on our native prairie.
We would like to suggest that you take a look at this video:

Quote from Francis in Laudato Si: ‘There is a nobility in the duty to care for creation through little daily actions, and it is wonderful how education can bring about real changes in lifestyle.”
Three small ways to care:
Use biodegradable cat litter.
Take tote bags to the grocery store to avoid the use of plastic bags.
Say no to single-use plastic straws
