One of the exciting things about August in Indianola, is that we start the month by looking up. We are all out at various times looking up at the beauty of balloons. I would suggest that if we can we extend that looking up one night till after dark, so we can see the beauty of God’s creation in the multitude of stars in the night.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people in our western states that are still experiencing drought and watching their principal river and water reservoirs dry up. At the same time, we see stories of the continual famine inSouth Sudan as they too experience lack of water.

Tips:
Carry your cups. Coffee behemoth Starbucks blows through 8,000 paper cups a minute, which adds up to more than 4 billion cups a year (and one major buzz!). (Trusted Source.) Here’s where toting your own travel cup can make a big difference. Starbucks and some other coffee retailers will give you a discount if you BYO mug.
Forgo the Forks. If you’re ordering takeout at home, there’s no need to get plastic forks and knives. Use your own silverware. Also ask the restaurant to skip the napkins, utensils, or condiments with your order.
A shortprayer based on the first seven verses of Psalm 95
Creator God,
In your hand are the depths of the earth,
The mountain peaks belong to you.
The sea is your creation.
The dry land is your design.
The taste of the produce is your gift.
And we are your people,
A flock under your care.
We give you our thanks and praise, O God.
Amen
